"Maria and I just wanted to formally acknowledge the excellent job you and your team achieved in building our new house.
For most of us, building a new house is a step into the unknown. The risks of the project unravelling at some point during the construction are significant - misunderstandings, oversights, poor interpretation of plans, materials not arriving on time, sub-trades proving unreliable - not to mention cost overruns. The excitment at the beginning of the project can so easily turn to frustration and dispair.
The fact that our experience proved to be so enjoyable throughout the process can only be attributed to the skills of you and your team. The schedule you gave us at the outset seemed ambitious but you achieved it. All the subtrades turned up on time and were excellent to deal with and we saw no delays through the whole project.
But what is most important at the end is the quality of the job. It is clear from talking to many people in the industry over the past year that you have earned a formidable reputation for fastidious quality - and that is evident to us having lived through the process and now domiciled in the house for all of one month. We just have no problems that need rectifying.
It is often said that the quality of the project is reflected in the quality of the administration. And in this regard I have to congratulate you on the detail of your monthly accounts and reconcilliation to the overall project budget. There was never so much as an arithmetical slip up.
We are delighted with the end result and with your craftsmanship and that of your team. We have no hesitation in recommening you to others contemplating the choice of an outstanding builder. We feel sure they would achieve a similar outcome and be equally delighted."
