Our wonderful family home is warm, light-filled, spacious and an absolute joy to live in. Designed by architect John Blair, this four-bedroom, four-bathroom home has exceptional indoor/outdoor connection which allows easy entertaining and day to day living.
This home is warm, light-filled, spacious and a pleasure to live in. A welcoming entrance makes way to the dining area with surprise views over the Shotover River. An outstanding focal point in the living areas is the imposing four-sided schist open fireplace dividing the exceptionally comfortable lounge area, with large TV and surround sound system, from the dining room and anchors the vaulted ceilings.
Bedrooms and living areas have large sliding doors onto decks enabling us to enjoy breakfast whilst taking in the fantastic view of the Shotover River and the warm rays of morning sun. Access from the spacious lounge to the private outdoor living area featuring hardwood beams and chef’s barbeque makes for great leisurely entertaining. At the end of the day, once the sun goes, the outdoor schist fireplace provides welcome warmth on cool southern evenings.
Entry to and from the spacious and welcoming outdoor areas and garden from all ground floor rooms is seamless. The large well appointed kitchen with scullery alongside is a ‘foodie’ delight with views from sliding windows an added bonus. The large oven with quiet rangehood has more than catered to many nights’ entertaining.
The proximity between kitchen and both indoor and outdoor dining areas makes interaction with the cook easy. Ample storage is provided with both soft closing doors and drawers in both kitchen and scullery. The wall-to-wall, bench to ceiling, glass splash back is a visual delight and makes clean up a breeze. Large double sink, double dish drawer and double-door fridge are in scale with the size of this hub of the home. The smoked oak timber flooring is beautifully set-off by the white joinery and Quartz stone Arctic Ice bench top. The huge serving bench, plumbed in fridge with ice/water, excellent lighting and large sink with flexible tap in the scullery, combine with all the other features above to truly make this kitchen a pleasure to be in.
The master suite, separated from the living areas by a glass link way, has vaulted ceilings, a spacious walk-in wardrobe, ample storage. An impressive luxury bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles, spacious shower and large double bath from which to enjoy the river views or starlit nights, whilst soaking is the realisation of the owners long held dream. Other features we love include water heated towel rail, back lit mirror, underfloor heating, large basin, stylish fittings, electric blind, easy access shower and separate toilet.
A Purpose-built art studio and four car garaging cater to the owners every need. The teenagers’ area including bedrooms, lounge and bathroom making living easier for both them and their parents. The guest room upstairs has outstanding views of Coronet Peak and the Shotover River through double opening doors. Guests can relax with peace and privacy in this large area with their own ensuite.
